Dahisar Police Arrest Four in Kandivali Raids for Forged Aadhaar Cards
The Dahisar police on Tuesday busted a gang allegedly involved in manufacturing forged Aadhaar cards, birth certificates, leaving certificates, and other citizenship-related documents, arresting four people following raids in Kandivali.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Surajkumar Yadav, Upendra Singh, Satyam Mishra, and Akash Patwa, all residents of Kandivali and Bhayander. The police are currently searching for a fifth suspect, identified as Umesh Yadav, alias Sameer, who is absconding.
The operation was launched after Police Inspector Nilesh Salunkhe received intelligence that forged Aadhaar and PAN cards were being produced in Dahisar. Following the tip-off, the police team arranged a trap and sent a decoy customer to US Enterprises in Dahisar East.
After inquiries at the Dahisar location, the accused directed the decoy customer to Sam Infotech in Kandivali East, where a forged birth certificate was being prepared. Police then raided the Kandivali East centre and arrested Surajkumar Yadav and Upendra Singh.
A subsequent raid was conducted at Shivam Enterprises in Kandivali, where police arrested Mishra and Patwa.
During the raids at both establishments, police seized several electronic devices and forged materials. The seized property included computers, an Aadhaar card updating machine, scanners, fingerprint scanners, a webcam, fake principals' stamps, plan certificates, medical policies, forged birth and leaving certificates, and various other stamps used in the preparation of fake documents.
Investigators are currently probing how long the gang had been running the forged document operation and are pursuing leads to locate the absconding suspect.
