The fire occurred while Shah was outside walking her dogs near her residence in Bandra East. Following the incident, the actor shared a video recording from the scene on Instagram to call out the campaign team for reckless behavior.

Criticizing the campaigners, Shah stated on social media that political parties hiring election teams must ensure their workers exercise common sense. She noted that her building committee had fortunately refused permission for the campaigners to go door-to-door before firecrackers were burst near the building.
