On Monday, July 6, 2026, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reviewed the heavy rainfall and flood situation across the state via a video conference while undergoing treatment in a hospital. The virtual review focused on the impact of the continuous rainfall in Mumbai, Konkan, Raigad, and other affected areas.

Despite being on intravenous (IV) saline support, Shinde held the meeting with government officials and ministers to assess the ongoing situation. The Deputy Chief Minister conducted a district-wise review to understand the local impact of the heavy downpours.

During the video conference, Shinde took detailed updates on the availability of essential relief materials for the affected populations. He also reviewed the ongoing response measures being implemented by the administration to address the waterlogging and flooding.

The meeting allowed the Deputy Chief Minister to coordinate directly with ministers and officials from his hospital room. Shinde assessed the progress of emergency operations and ensured that the state's response to the continuous rainfall remains active and coordinated across all affected districts.

The review highlighted the administration's focus on managing the heavy rainfall situation in key regions such as Mumbai, Raigad, and the Konkan belt, which have been experiencing continuous wet weather.

The officials and ministers provided district-by-district updates to the Deputy Chief Minister. These updates covered the immediate impact of the rainfall, the status of relief material distribution, and the deployment of response measures to assist citizens in the affected areas.

Through this video conference, the state government aimed to streamline relief operations and monitor the flood situation closely, ensuring that all necessary measures are actively being taken on the ground despite the Deputy Chief Minister's hospitalization.
