Devendra Fadnavis inaugurates photo exhibition on late Ajit Pawar in Mumbai

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday inaugurated a photo exhibition in Mumbai dedicated to the life, family, and political career of the late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The event was organized on the eve of Pawar's birth anniversary to commemorate his life and legacy, following his tragic death in a plane crash on January 28, 2026.

The exhibition features a wide array of photographs showcasing Pawar's journey. The collection includes pictures from his childhood, his family life, and his wedding, alongside numerous moments captured during his extensive political and social career.

Addressing the press after the inauguration, Chief Minister Fadnavis praised the exhibition for its detailed portrayal. He noted that the beautiful pictures depict "Dada's" entire life in a very fine manner. Fadnavis further stated that the photographs reflect Pawar's vibrant personality, capturing both his warm smile and, at times, his strict demeanour.

The late Deputy Chief Minister's sudden demise in January 2026 had sent shockwaves among his supporters and well-wishers across the state. The plane carrying Pawar crashed while attempting to land in Baramati, where he was scheduled to address a public rally at 11:00 AM in connection with the Zila Parishad elections. The impact of the crash was so severe that everyone on board was declared dead. Upon receiving news of the tragic incident, Supriya Sule and Sunetra Pawar rushed to Baramati, and visuals of the crash site soon went viral on the internet.

Fadnavis also recalled his association with the late leader during the Maharashtra 2026 budget session. In his address at the time, the Chief Minister had praised Ajit Pawar, stating that they shared a deep bond that went beyond mere political alliances. He added that Pawar had inspired not just him, but generations of people through his work, ethics, and sharp decision-making.
