Devendra Fadnavis Leads Tiranga Yatra Rally in Mumbai Ahead of Independence Day
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis participated in the Tiranga Yatra rally in Mumbai on Monday as part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised the Tricolour rallies across the country ahead of Independence Day on August 15.
Addressing the gathering at the Nation First Tiranga Fest during the rally, Fadnavis highlighted India's rapid development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He asserted that the country has witnessed significant growth and is emerging as a major global economic power.
In his speech, Fadnavis stated that India has become the world’s fourth-largest economic power and is actively competing with nations globally in sectors such as information technology and artificial intelligence. He emphasised that India possesses the world's largest youth population and declared that the Tricolour would never come down.
Fadnavis also addressed foreign interference, alleging that certain foreign powers and individuals are attempting to meddle in India’s internal affairs out of fear of its rise as a global superpower. Directly addressing the youth holding Tricolours at the rally, he stated that no outside forces possess the power to halt India’s momentum toward becoming a developed nation by 2047.
Invoking the historic Quit India movement of August 9, 1942, Fadnavis called the current movement a 'Do or Die' revolution aimed at building a developed India. He urged citizens to unite under the Tricolour and serve the nation, while calling on anti-India forces to 'Quit India'.
The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is being celebrated nationwide to foster patriotism, strengthen national unity, and promote cultural heritage. Now in its fifth year since its launch in 2022, the initiative has grown into one of the largest public participation movements in the country.
Several key leaders and public representatives attended the event in Mumbai. Present alongside Fadnavis were Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Adv. Rahul Narwekar, Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar, MLA Ravindra Chavan, MLA Ameet Satam, Padma Shri awardee Bhiklya Ladakya Dhinda, state legislature members, and Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde.
