Devendra Fadnavis, Sharad Pawar Pay Tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Death Anniversary

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary on Sunday, August 16, 2026, describing him as an inspirational and visionary leader.
In a message shared on social media platform X, Fadnavis recalled Vajpayee as a leader whose life and ideals continue to serve as an enduring source of inspiration for the country. He noted that the former prime minister's contributions and principles remain central to the nation's journey.
Vajpayee, who served as the first Prime Minister of India from the Bharatiya Janata Party, passed away on August 16, 2018, at the age of 93.
Opposition Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) chief Sharad Pawar also paid homage to the late leader on his death anniversary. Pawar stated on X that Vajpayee accorded the highest place of respect to parliamentary traditions and the national interest.
Pawar highlighted that Vajpayee enriched the direction of Indian public life through his oratory, vision, and unwavering commitment to democracy.
