Devotees Throng ISKCON Juhu And City Temples For Janmashtami 2026

Devotees gathered in large numbers at Krishna temples across Mumbai, including ISKCON Juhu, on Friday, September 4, 2026, to celebrate Janmashtami with grand aartis, bhajans, and special prayers.

Temples throughout the metropolis were decorated with vibrant flowers and colourful lights as visitors arrived for early-morning rituals. The festivities marked the start of celebrations across the city, fostering widespread religious fervour ahead of the upcoming Dahi Handi events.

Preparations had commenced earlier in the week, with the idols of Radha and Krishna decorated with flowers at ISKCON Juhu on Thursday, on the eve of the festival.

Celebrations also drew large crowds in other parts of the city. At the ISKCON temple in Girgaon, the day began with a grand Mangala Aarti, which brought a steady stream of devotees to the shrine for morning rituals.

Following the Friday prayers and temple observances, the city is set to continue the festive weekend with Dahi Handi celebrations scheduled for Saturday.
