Dr Cheryl Misquitta Resigns as Bandra Gymkhana President Ahead of EGM Vote

Dr Cheryl Misquitta resigned as the president of Bandra Gymkhana on Saturday evening, August 8, ahead of a scheduled Extraordinary General Meeting in Bandra West. The resignation effectively ended an anticipated leadership showdown at the club located on St Andrew’s Road.

Members of the club had been called to attend the Extraordinary General Meeting on the morning of Sunday, August 9. The meeting had been convened through a notice signed by Honorary Secretary Theresa Aguiar.

The central focus of the planned meeting was a vote by secret ballot on a resolution that would decide whether Dr Misquitta retained her chair as president or was removed from office. However, the expected vote and drama at the club fizzled out when Dr Misquitta submitted her resignation on Saturday evening prior to the meeting.
