Draft Voter Lists to Be Published on August 31 Amid Uncollected Forms in Thane

The draft electoral rolls for assembly constituencies are scheduled to be published on August 31 as authorities expedite the Special Intensive Revision exercise, following reports of a high proportion of uncollectible enumeration forms across constituencies in Thane and Mumbai.

The latest constituency-wise data revealed that several urban and suburban assembly constituencies recorded elevated rates of enumeration forms that could not be collected or digitised during the voter revision process.

In response to the revision timeline, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has expedited the Special Intensive Revision of the electoral rolls to meet the month-end deadline for releasing the draft voter lists across constituencies.

Alongside the voter list updates, the Election Commission of India (ECI) approved the rationalisation of polling stations across Mumbai city and suburban districts. The approval was granted on August 24.

The move follows a revised schedule for the Special Intensive Revision issued by the Election Commission of India on August 19, setting the stage for the publication of the draft voter lists on August 31.
