Drunk Woman Detained After Blocking Bus and Auto-Rickshaw in Ghansoli

An allegedly drunk woman was detained by the police on Monday after she caused significant traffic disruption in the Ghansoli area of Navi Mumbai. The woman repeatedly stepped in front of a Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT) bus and an auto-rickshaw, refusing to clear the busy road and creating chaos in the locality.
The incident drew a large crowd of curious onlookers to the spot, which further compounded the traffic congestion in the busy area. According to eyewitnesses, the unidentified woman stood directly in the path of the oncoming public transport vehicles. She refused to move out of the way despite multiple requests and pleas from local passersby who witnessed the scene.
As the commotion escalated, women police personnel from the Koparkhairane police station were called to the spot to handle the situation. The police officers attempted to calm the woman down and tried to persuade her to leave the road so that the flow of traffic could be restored. However, she allegedly remained highly uncooperative and refused to listen to the officers.
With the situation on the road deteriorating and the crowd of onlookers growing, the police personnel took the step to detain her. She was subsequently placed in a police vehicle and taken to the Koparkhairane police station for further action.
Following the incident, police officials confirmed that the necessary legal and medical procedures would be followed regarding the detained woman.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported to the woman, the police officers, or any members of the public during the high-drama incident. Additionally, no damage was caused to the NMMT bus, the auto-rickshaw, or any other vehicles present at the scene. Traffic in the Ghansoli area was restored to its normal flow shortly after the woman was safely removed from the road by the police team.
