Eight Booked for Assaulting Ugandan Businessman at Khar West Pub

The Khar police have registered a First Information Report against eight individuals for allegedly assaulting a 28-year-old Ugandan businessman twice at a pub in Khar West during the early hours of Monday.

The victim, Prince Louis Mushabe, is the managing director of Prince Louis Holdings, an international procurement and supply-chain company. Mushabe had arrived at the pub in Khar West alone at around 11:15 pm on Sunday night.

According to the complaint filed with the police, the incident occurred around 1:00 am on Monday. Mushabe stated that an unidentified person shook his hand and pulled him, which caused his elbow to accidentally make contact with a woman standing behind him. Following this, the woman and her male companions allegedly attacked and assaulted him twice.

Police subsequently identified six of the eight accused individuals as Murad Al Rahisi, 26, Ritika Al Rahisi, 25, Naimuddin Shaikh, 37, Mohit Ramraje, 23, Navnit Jha, 28, and Arnav Jha, 28. Investigators stated that the accused work as struggling actors and background artistes in Bollywood.

Following the complaint, investigators examined CCTV footage from the pub’s parking area, which captured the group boarding a cab. Using these visuals, police traced the accused to their homes in Goregaon within 12 hours.

The suspects were apprehended and later released after being served notices on Monday evening.

During questioning, the accused claimed that Mushabe had misbehaved with their female friend, an allegation that the businessman has denied. The Khar police have sought CCTV footage from inside the pub to establish the sequence of events and determine what triggered the incident.
