Engineering Student Granted Bail in Vile Parle West Hit-and-Run Case

A 19-year-old engineering student arrested in connection with an August 18 hit-and-run incident in Vile Parle West was produced before a magistrate on Sunday and subsequently released on a bail bond of ₹5,000.
The case, handled by the Juhu police, stems from a collision involving a minor victim identified as 15-year-old Samika Kaur Ghai. The student was taken into custody following allegations that he fled the scene after the accident without offering assistance to the teenager.
According to the Juhu police, the accused was found to possess a valid driving licence at the time of the incident.
During police interrogation, the student stated that a blind spot caused by a passing auto-rickshaw contributed to the collision. He further told investigators that he remained at the accident spot for approximately 10 minutes after the crash before leaving the area out of fear.
