Fadnavis, Shinde Target INDIA Bloc at Loktantra Bachao Padyatra in Thane

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday accused the opposition INDIA bloc of stoking unrest across the country and attempting to undermine constitutional institutions. Speaking at a Bharatiya Janata Party-sponsored 'Loktantra Bachao Padyatra' in Thane, the ruling leaders claimed the opposition was attempting to push the nation toward a communist-style system.
Fadnavis asserted that the opposition's political conflict was no longer limited to opposing the ruling party, arguing that the fight was now directed against the nation itself and its development. He also accused the Congress party of merely repackaging its long-standing political agenda rather than offering constructive alternatives.
"Their battle is not against BJP, NDA or PM Modi, but against our country. They want to create anarchy, undermine the Constitution and defame our institutions, with the larger intention of bringing a communist and leftist regime on the lines of that in China," Fadnavis said during the Thane event.
Addressing the opposition's objections regarding voter rolls, Fadnavis claimed their campaign against the special intensive revision of electoral rolls was motivated by political considerations. He alleged that the pushback stemmed directly from the recent removal of illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators from the official voter lists.
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde turned the opposition's allegations of vote theft back on its leadership, pointing specifically to the political fallout following the 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections. Shinde targeted Uddhav Thackeray, alleging that the real betrayal of voters occurred when Thackeray parted ways with his pre-poll alliance partner.
"The real vote chori happened when they backstabbed their natural ally, BJP, and joined hands with Congress for power," Shinde said.
Shinde also contested the opposition's repeated allegations regarding the integrity and misuse of Electronic Voting Machines. Questioning the consistency of their claims, he asked whether opposition Members of Parliament who were elected under the same voting system would resign from their seats, and whether the alliance would step down from governing in states where its candidates had won elections.
