Falling Tree Damages Parked Vehicles in Tilak Nagar Dadar East

A large tree collapsed outside a residential building on Road No. 1 in Tilak Nagar, Dadar East, Mumbai, shortly after midnight on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, following heavy overnight rain. The incident occurred directly outside Madhavi Niwas, causing a loud disturbance that jolted local residents awake. Although the falling tree damaged parked vehicles in the area, authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported from the midnight incident.
The tree was uprooted during the heavy overnight downpour that affected the Dadar area. As it fell, the tree narrowly missed hitting the Madhavi Niwas residential building itself. However, the heavy branches of the collapsing tree crashed down onto vehicles that were parked along the side of Road No. 1, resulting in damage to the parked vehicles.
Immediately following the collapse, local residents of Tilak Nagar took action by alerting the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Disaster Management helpline. They reported the blocked road and the damage caused by the fallen branches, prompting a quick response from the city's civic authorities.
Civic first responders arrived at the Dadar East location shortly after being alerted by the residents. The emergency teams immediately set to work on clearing the large fallen tree and removing the branches that were blocking Road No. 1.
The BMC Disaster Management team worked through the early hours of Wednesday morning to clear the site. The workers managed to cut up the tree and clear all the debris from the road by approximately 1:45 AM, restoring normal access to the area outside Madhavi Niwas.
The incident caused no casualties or injuries to any residents in the Tilak Nagar neighbourhood, and the prompt response from the civic team ensured that the road was cleared of all debris in less than two hours after the collapse occurred.
