FDA and Police Bust Food Expiry Date Tampering Racket in Turbhe

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), in coordination with the Central Crime Branch of Navi Mumbai, has busted an alleged interstate syndicate involved in altering manufacturing and expiry dates of packaged food products in Turbhe, Navi Mumbai.
The week-long enforcement operation was carried out between August 24 and August 29. Officials targeted the premises of M/s Sadhana Enterprises, located at Plot No. C-449 in the TTC Industrial Area in Turbhe.
During the joint operation, authorities discovered that the syndicate was systematically engaged in tampering with the printed manufacturing and expiration details on various packaged food items before distribution.
Among the items inspected and seized from the Turbhe facility were boxes of Lahori soda and Maggi noodles. Officials also found packets of Kurkure that had no expiry dates printed on them.
The joint team of the FDA and the Central Crime Branch intervened to halt the circulation of the manipulated food products and took action against the enterprise operating at the industrial site.
