Fire Breaks Out at Hiranandani Estate Flat in Thane West, Two Residents Evacuate Safely

A fire broke out in a residential apartment at the Capri Co-operative Housing Society in Hiranandani Estate, Thane (West), on Wednesday afternoon. No casualties were reported as two female residents evacuated the premises safely before emergency responders arrived on the scene.

Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at approximately 4:23 PM on September 2, 2026. The fire originated inside Flat No. 303, situated on the third floor of the 10-storey residential building located near Seema School along Dharmaveer Anand Dighe Marg.

Upon receiving the distress call, emergency response teams were dispatched immediately. The intervention force included one rescue vehicle and a jumbo water tanker from the Thane Fire Brigade, accompanied by a pickup vehicle from the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) and personnel from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL).

According to an emergency response official, responders prioritised containing the flames and ensuring the safety of the occupants. Both women inside the flat acted quickly upon discovering the fire and evacuated the apartment in time, preventing any injuries.

Firefighters worked to stop the blaze from spreading to adjacent homes in the 10-storey building and brought the situation completely under control by approximately 5:15 PM.

While the exact cause of the blaze remains under investigation, officials confirmed that the fire caused extensive damage to several household belongings inside the apartment. The destroyed items included an air conditioning unit, a television, wooden beds, wooden cupboards, and clothing.

Authorities confirmed that the flames have been extinguished, the situation is fully under control, and the residential building has been secured and rendered safe.
