Fire Breaks Out in Basement of Aayakar Bhavan in Churchgate

A fire broke out in the basement of Aayakar Bhavan, the Income Tax office located in Churchgate, Mumbai, on Monday afternoon. The Mumbai Fire Brigade rushed to the site after being alerted to the blaze at 2:01 pm.

Around 20 fire tenders and multiple firefighting vehicles were deployed to the location to bring the fire under control as thick smoke billowed from the building. Officials confirmed that at least four fire engines were among the initial response units sent to fight the flames.

Firefighters managed to rescue employees from the premises following the basement blaze. No injuries have been reported so far in connection with the incident.

Firefighting operations continued at the Churchgate office building as teams worked to douse the fire and secure the area.
