Fire breaks out in Nature's Basket basement storeroom on Hill Road in Bandra West

A fire broke out in the basement storeroom of the Nature's Basket store in a commercial-cum-residential building on Hill Road in Bandra West, Mumbai, on Saturday. The incident, which occurred early in the morning, prompted a swift response from emergency services to prevent the flames from spreading further.

According to Assistant Divisional Fire Officer (ADFO) SK Bandgar, the Mumbai Fire Brigade received the initial distress call regarding the blaze at approximately 12:30 AM.

Initially, the fire department was informed that the fire was concentrated in the ground-floor storeroom of the Nature's Basket outlet. However, upon arriving at the Hill Road site, emergency responders discovered that the actual source of the fire was located within the building's basement storeroom.

A total of four fire tenders from the Mumbai Fire Brigade were dispatched to the scene to tackle the emergency.

To extinguish the flames, the firefighting team utilized a hose line. Because the fire was contained within the basement of the commercial-cum-residential structure, a dense volume of smoke had accumulated in the area. This smoke buildup presented a challenge, requiring the firefighters to wear specialized breathing apparatus sets before they could safely enter the basement to bring the fire under control.

Thanks to the prompt actions of the Mumbai Fire Brigade, the blaze was successfully contained. Officials have confirmed that no casualties or loss of life occurred as a result of the incident.

As of the latest reports, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and further details from the ongoing investigation are awaited.
