Fire Breaks Out on 11th Floor of Vile Parle West High-Rise

A major fire broke out on the 11th floor of a high-rise building in Vile Parle West late Tuesday night. The blaze occurred at Shanta Bhavan, a ground-plus-12-storey building located on Baptista Road near St Xavier School. No injuries have been reported so far, according to fire officials.

According to details provided by the BMC Disaster Management Cell, the incident was first reported at around 10 pm. The Mumbai Fire Brigade officially declared a Level-I fire at 10.08 pm. As firefighting efforts intensified, officials escalated the incident to a Level-II fire at 10.16 pm.

A multi-agency emergency response was swiftly launched to manage the situation. Teams from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, local police, the electricity distribution company, the 108 ambulance service, and local BMC ward staff were all mobilised to the site on Baptista Road.

Firefighting operations are currently underway to bring the blaze on the 11th floor under control. Emergency services secured the area around the building while responders worked to contain the situation.

Fire officials confirmed that no injuries have been reported from the incident as of late Tuesday night. Authorities stated that a detailed investigation will be conducted to ascertain the exact cause of the fire.
