Five BLOs Suspended After BJP Worker Caught Photocopying 3,404 SIR Forms in Kharghar

Five booth-level officers (BLOs) have been suspended after a local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker was allegedly caught photocopying thousands of official voter forms at a shop in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, an official said on Saturday.

The action followed the discovery of 3,404 Special Intensive Revision (SIR) electoral forms containing confidential voter details in the possession of an unauthorised individual.

The incident came to light when a local Shiv Sena (UBT) leader reportedly intercepted Suraj Patil, an office-bearer of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), at a photocopying shop in the Kharghar area.

Patil was allegedly found with the 3,404 SIR forms, which are linked to the Panvel assembly constituency.

Following the discovery, administrative authorities moved to suspend the five booth-level officers connected to the handling of the electoral documents.
