Four Injured After Paver Block Falls From 24th Floor Onto Kashimira House

Four people were injured in the early hours of Monday morning after a paver block fell from the 24th floor of an under-construction building and crashed through the roof of a neighbouring house in the Shri Haridham Welfare Society, Kashimira, Mumbai. The incident occurred during a period of heavy rain and gusty winds.
According to the Kashimira police, the block was dislodged from the high-rise structure by the severe weather conditions. It plunged 24 storeys before crashing directly through the tin roof of an adjoining single-storey house.
The occupants of the house were asleep at the time of the incident. The falling block caused sudden destruction to the structure and left four of the sleeping residents injured.
The police have identified the injured victims as Priyanka Chaubey, her husband Satish Chaubey, Dharmendra Soni, and Santosh Jadhav. Emergency response measures were taken immediately following the accident to transport the victims to local medical facilities.
Priyanka Chaubey is currently admitted and undergoing treatment at Orbit Hospital. The other three injured individuals, Satish Chaubey, Dharmendra Soni, and Santosh Jadhav, were shifted to Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Hospital for their medical care.
The single-storey house in the Shri Haridham Welfare Society sustained significant damage to its tin roof where the block broke through.
The Kashimira police have initiated an investigation into the accident. Police officials stated that the exact cause of the incident is yet to be fully ascertained. As part of the ongoing investigation, the police are closely examining whether the construction site operators had put adequate safety measures in place to prevent such hazards.
