Garbage Truck Gets Stuck in Drain Cover on Main Road in Achole, Nalasopara

A municipal garbage collection truck got stuck in a drain cover on the main road in Achole, Nalasopara, on Tuesday morning, prompting civic officials to deploy heavy machinery to clear the vehicle.

The incident took place at around 9 a.m. while the civic vehicle was transporting collected waste. As the truck moved along the stretch, one of its wheels suddenly became trapped inside a drain opening, bringing the vehicle to an abrupt halt and leaving it unable to move.

No injuries or casualties were reported following the mishap.

Upon being alerted to the situation, personnel from the municipal Solid Waste Management Department arrived at the spot in Achole to carry out recovery operations. The team brought in a crane, which was used to lift and pull the stranded garbage truck out of the damaged drain opening.

The incident on the main road has once again brought attention to civic infrastructure issues, raising concerns regarding the maintenance, condition, and overall safety of drain covers across the city's road network.
