Ghansoli Senior Citizens Association Seeks Dedicated CIDCO Plot at Anniversary Event
The Ghansoli Senior Citizens’ Association celebrated its anniversary and held a collective birthday celebration on Saturday at the Shri Devasthan Sanstha hall in Ghansoli village, Navi Mumbai. During the event, association president and former MLA Ramesh Patil announced that efforts are underway to secure a dedicated plot of land from CIDCO at a concessional rate to resolve the group's long-pending demand.
Patil stated that the association has been consistently pursuing the matter with CIDCO and the state government. He expressed hope that efforts to make a dedicated plot available to the organization at a concessional rate would yield positive results in the coming months.
Over the past 15 to 20 years, the membership of the Ghansoli Senior Citizens’ Association has increased substantially. Because it lacks its own premises, the association currently relies on rented halls to conduct its social, cultural, and other community activities, driving its push for a permanent space of its own.
The event also continued the association's annual tradition of collectively celebrating the birthdays of its senior citizens. Members whose birthdays fell during the year were felicitated at the function, which was followed by a gathering of members.
The programme in Ghansoli village was attended by association vice-president Shyamsheth Patil, corporator Anjana Mhatre, Madhuri Harijan, project-affected persons’ leader Deepak H. Patil, and former corporator Namdev Daurkar, alongside association office-bearers and members of the village community.
