The Government Railway Police (GRP) on Saturday recorded the statement of a second eyewitness in connection with the death of 62-year-old Cajetan Denis Peris, who was allegedly pushed from a moving local train in Mumbai. The funeral of Peris was held on Saturday at Sacred Heart Church in Santacruz.
According to police officials, the second eyewitness is deaf and mute and submitted his statement in writing. The GRP stated that the account provided by the second eyewitness corroborated the sequence of events previously described by the first eyewitness.
The incident began when the accused allegedly boarded the local train at Lower Parel station at around 1.07 pm. Peris subsequently boarded the train at Mahim station.
