Hasan Mushrif Slams Poor Road Conditions in Nandurbar After Independence Day Visit

Maharashtra Medical Education Minister Hasan Mushrif expressed strong displeasure over the poor condition of roads in Nandurbar after travelling to the tribal district from the Maharashtra-Gujarat border to hoist the national flag on Independence Day.
Mushrif, who travelled via Surat to reach Nandurbar for the official celebrations, stated that he was shocked by the state of the road network as soon as he entered the district. Speaking to media persons in visible annoyance, the minister said that he felt ashamed of the infrastructure conditions he encountered along the route.
The minister also voiced sharp unhappiness with local elected representatives for their failure to monitor and address basic infrastructure issues. Questioning the oversight of local leaders, Mushrif asked what kind of development could be taking place in the district if elected representatives were not paying attention to roads that were in such severe disrepair.
Following his visit, Mushrif instructed the Nandurbar district collector to take necessary steps to ensure that the quality of roads in the district is maintained.
The issue of deteriorating road infrastructure has recently drawn widespread scrutiny in North Maharashtra. In neighbouring Nashik district, a video of two children staging a mock television interview to complain about massive potholes on the road between their home and school recently went viral, prompting local authorities to step in for damage control.
