IMD Forecasts Heavy Rainfall in Thane on Sunday Wednesday and Thursday

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places in Thane on Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday as an active monsoon spell continues to affect the region. The weather department released its five-day district forecast for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), indicating that Thane, Palghar, and Raigad are expected to witness heavy rainfall on multiple days over the coming week.

In Thane, residents can expect a temporary ease in weather conditions on Monday and Tuesday, which are forecast to receive moderate rain. However, the heavy rainfall spells predicted for Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday are expected to impact daily commutes and activities across the district. The IMD has officially classified the probability of rainfall as "very likely" for all five days of the forecast period.

Other parts of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region will also experience wet weather. In Mumbai, moderate rain is expected to continue through most of the coming week. The IMD forecast states that Mumbai is likely to receive moderate rain on Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, while Monday is expected to see light to moderate rainfall. Similar to Thane, heavy rainfall at isolated places has been forecast for Mumbai on Thursday.

Further north, Palghar is forecast to witness light to moderate rain accompanied by thundershowers until Tuesday. The district will then see an intensification of weather conditions, with heavy rainfall forecast at isolated places on Wednesday and Thursday.

According to the IMD, Raigad is likely to receive the most intense rainfall in the MMR. The department has forecast heavy rainfall at a few places in Raigad on Sunday and Thursday, and heavy rainfall at isolated places on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The active monsoon spell across these districts is expected to bring heavy rainfall to isolated or multiple areas, potentially affecting transportation and daily schedules throughout the week.
