IMD Forecasts Light to Moderate Showers Across Thane and Mumbai

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall across Thane and Mumbai during the day on Saturday, September 5, following light showers recorded over the preceding 24 hours.

According to the weather bulletin issued at 8:00 AM on Saturday, Mumbai and its neighbouring suburbs are expected to experience generally cloudy skies accompanied by intermittent light spells of rain.

Precipitation figures collected between 8:00 AM on September 4 and 8:00 AM on September 5 showed that Mumbai recorded an average rainfall of 9.21 mm across the city.

Regional distribution data showed variations in shower activity, with the eastern suburbs recording an average of 4.11 mm of precipitation over the 24-hour monitoring window.

Meanwhile, the western suburbs logged an average of 3.31 mm of rain during the same period.

The IMD indicated that cloudy conditions along with light to moderate showers will continue across both Thane and Mumbai through the remainder of the day.
