India, US Must Address Friction Points and Taxation, Says US Ambassador Sergio Gor

Speaking at the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce in Mumbai on Tuesday, United States Ambassador to India Sergio Gor stated that India and the US must address friction points as true partners, emphasizing the need for predictable taxation and regulatory frameworks to allow businesses to thrive.
Addressing members at the chamber, Ambassador Gor stressed the importance of fostering candid, trust-based engagements concerning export controls. He noted that establishing rock-solid intellectual property protections is essential to provide innovators with the confidence to invest, create, and scale their ventures without fear.
During his engagement in the state, the US Ambassador also met with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to discuss avenues for expanding bilateral cooperation between the United States and India.
The discussions between Gor and Fadnavis focused on strengthening partnerships across key sectors, with specific emphasis placed on technology, energy, and healthcare initiatives.
