Indian Rock Python rescued from plastic toy ring in Thane home

A routine wildlife rescue operation in Thane took an unusual turn on July 8, 2026, when an Indian Rock Python was rescued after becoming trapped in a discarded plastic toy ring inside a residential property.
The rescue was conducted by the Wildlife Welfare Association (WWA) after they were alerted by a local resident who spotted the snake inside their house.
According to the WWA, the resident noticed that the reptile had an unidentified object stuck around its body and immediately contacted the rescue team for assistance.
Upon reaching the spot, WWA members identified the reptile as an Indian Rock Python. Upon closer inspection, they discovered that the python had become entangled and trapped inside a discarded plastic ring toy.
The rescue team then conducted an assessment of the python's condition. After carefully assessing the situation, the WWA members successfully freed the reptile from the plastic toy ring.
Following the rescue, the Indian Rock Python was safely released into a suitable natural habitat.
