India's First House of Photography Opens on Veera Desai Road in Andheri West

India's first "House of Photography" was inaugurated in the Veera Desai Road precinct in Andheri West on August 19, coinciding with World Photography Day. The launch took place alongside citywide events marking 200 years since the invention of the photograph.

The two-storey, 5,795-square-foot experiential space is designed to showcase Fujifilm's instax, X Series, and GFX System cameras through hands-on experiences. The facility also houses dedicated zones for QuickSnap single-use cameras, binoculars, and Z Series projectors.

Koji Wada, managing director of Fujifilm India, said the initiative aims to create a dedicated space for visual storytellers, creators, and photographers across generations.

Arun Babu, associate director of the Imaging Solutions Division at Fujifilm India, explained that the facility accommodates photographers across all skill levels, from first-time camera users to seasoned professionals aiming to refine their craft.

Officials noted that the Veera Desai Road location in Andheri West was selected due to its close proximity to film students, branded retail stores, and Mumbai's network of production and equipment rental houses.
