Injured Nilgai Rescued in Joint Operation at Changyacha Pada in Shahapur

An injured nilgai was rescued from Changyacha Pada in Shahapur following a joint operation carried out by the Shahapur Forest Department and the Thane-based non-governmental organisation Wildlife Welfare Association.
The operation was set into motion after local residents spotted the injured animal at Changyacha Pada and promptly alerted the forest authorities.
Following the alert from the locals, the Shahapur Forest Department mobilised a response in coordination with Wildlife Welfare Association. The teams carried out a timely intervention to reach the site and secure the injured animal safely.
The successful rescue highlighted the cooperation between the local community and authorities, with prompt reporting from residents playing a key role in enabling the joint forest department and NGO team to carry out the operation.
