Israeli Consul General Attends Maharashtra CM's Independence Day Event in Mumbai

Consul General of Israel in Mumbai Yaniv Revach attended an Independence Day celebration hosted by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai on Thursday, extending his greetings to India and emphasising the strong ties shared by both nations.

The event organized by the Chief Minister in Mumbai drew diplomatic representation from multiple foreign missions, with Consuls General from several foreign embassies in attendance.

Speaking on the sidelines of the gathering, Revach said he was honoured to receive an invitation from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and to be seated next to him at the table during the celebration. He conveyed warm Independence Day wishes to the country and its citizens while describing the depth of bilateral relations.

Revach noted that the partnership between India and Israel extends beyond the strong bond between the prime ministers of both nations, pointing out that it is firmly rooted in connections between the people of India and Israel. He added that the two countries continue to collaborate closely across key sectors, including agriculture, water, and cultural cooperation.

Highlighting specific bilateral initiatives, Revach announced that a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is set to be unveiled in Israel in the coming months. He described the installation of the statue as one of the most beautiful projects currently being promoted as part of the partnership between the two countries.

Deputy Consul General of Israel in Mumbai Avishag Hefer also spoke about participating in the celebrations in the city. Hefer noted that this marked her second Independence Day in Mumbai, mentioning that while it took her some time to adjust to the city's energy after first arriving, she was very pleased to celebrate the occasion once again.
