Jogeshwari Junction to run long distance trains from January 2027

Long-distance trains are scheduled to begin operating from the upcoming Jogeshwari Junction in Mumbai starting January 2027. Western Railway General Manager Ramashray Pandey confirmed the timeline during a review meeting with Mumbai North West MP Ravindra Waikar to discuss pending railway projects and commuter issues in the constituency.
The upcoming station is also slated for development into a modern multimodal transport hub. Western Railway plans to introduce a hotel and a shopping mall during the second phase of the development, though these additions remain subject to technical and financial feasibility.
Once completed, the project will provide new terminal facilities for long-distance commuters in Mumbai, creating a modern hub with potential commercial and hospitality amenities.
The review meeting was attended by senior Western Railway officials, local public representatives, and civic leaders who gathered to address the constituency's ongoing commuter and transit challenges.
