Juhu Police ATC Detains Seven Suspected Bangladeshi Nationals in Nalasopara Raid

The Anti-Terrorism Cell of the Juhu police detained seven suspected Bangladeshi nationals, including two young children, during a pre-dawn operation in Nalasopara East in Palghar district on Thursday.

Acting on confidential intelligence, a team from the Juhu police ATC carried out the raid at approximately 1:00 AM at Jay Jivdani Chawl, situated in the Moregaon Talav area. Officers discovered a group comprising one man, four women, and two toddlers living at the premises.

According to police officials, initial findings indicated that the individuals had crossed into India without official permission or valid documentation. The team took all seven occupants into custody from the residence.

Investigators identified the detained adults and children following the operation. Among them is 26-year-old Akbar Ajmir Sardar, who was working as a security guard, and 53-year-old Nasima Begum Ujir Molla, who was employed as a ragpicker.

The other detained individuals include Rejuka Ujir Molla, a 21-year-old domestic worker, along with her three-year-old son; Yasmin Ujir Molla, a 27-year-old domestic worker, accompanied by her 18-month-old son; and 18-year-old Khatija Ujir Molla, who does housework.

A Juhu police officer confirmed that during questioning, the detained group reported their native address as Puthimari village, located in the Khulna district of Bangladesh.

Following the detentions, authorities initiated formal legal proceedings against the individuals. Officials have also set in motion the deportation process to send all seven back to Bangladesh.
