Kalyan gang rape prime accused Arbaaz Khan arrested at Mumbai airport

On Thursday, the Bazarpeth Police arrested Arbaaz Khan, the prime accused in a gang rape and blackmail case, at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. Khan, who had fled India to Oman after the alleged crime, was detained by immigration authorities upon his arrival after they detected an active Look-Out Circular against him.

According to police investigators, Khan allegedly befriended a young woman from a prominent locality in Kalyan, promised to marry her, and established a physical relationship on the pretext of marriage. During this time, Khan secretly recorded intimate videos of the victim without her knowledge.

The investigation further revealed that Khan allegedly shared the recorded videos with his associate, Moinuddin Khan, and another accused identified as Palalu. Police also claimed that Khan showed the videos to his father, Salim Khan, before disappearing from India.

Officials alleged that after Khan fled, Moinuddin Khan and Palalu repeatedly blackmailed the woman using the videos and sexually assaulted her multiple times. The complaint filed by the victim further states that Salim Khan also allegedly attempted to sexually assault her.

During the ongoing probe, police discovered that Khan had escaped to Oman, where he was reportedly employed as a chef at a reputed hotel. Based on this information, the Bazarpeth Police initiated the process for issuing a Look-Out Circular to prevent him from re-entering the country unnoticed.

On Thursday morning, Khan landed at the Mumbai airport from Oman. During his immigration clearance, officials detected the active Look-Out Circular against him. He was immediately detained, and the Bazarpeth Police were informed. A police team reached the airport and formally took him into custody.

Police officials stated that Moinuddin Khan had already been arrested earlier in connection with the case. Efforts are now underway to trace and arrest the remaining accused, Salim Khan and Palalu, who are currently absconding.

Investigators have sent the alleged videos and other electronic evidence for forensic examination. The survivor is being provided necessary protection and counselling while the investigation continues.
