Kandivli East Delivery Partner Arrested For Amarnath Yatra Bomb Threat

The Samta Nagar police have arrested a 26-year-old food delivery partner from Hanuman Nagar in Kandivli East, Mumbai, for allegedly sending a bomb threat message to the official Amarnath Yatra Helpline. The accused, Shubham Sarju Yadav, was apprehended after allegedly sending a message on July 12, 2026, which claimed that an explosive had been planted along the annual pilgrimage route.

According to the police, Yadav sent the threatening message from his mobile phone while he was at his residence in the Hanuman Nagar area of Kandivli East. The text of the message sent to the helpline read, "Mai Amarnath mai bam rakh ne wala hu". This message claimed that a bomb had been planted along the route, which is utilized by thousands of devotees who undertake the annual pilgrimage.

The threat was treated with the utmost seriousness by law enforcement. It triggered immediate concern among security agencies, prompting a coordinated response from multiple central and state security agencies, including the Mumbai Police. The pilgrimage route in Jammu and Kashmir, which includes the Baltal base camp as one of its starting points, is highly sensitive.

To track down the suspect, the detection team of the Samta Nagar police station launched a technical investigation to identify the sender of the message. The entire investigation was carried out under the direct supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone III) Gajanan Rajmane and Senior Inspector Jaywant Shinde of the Samta Nagar police station.

The technical probe successfully traced the mobile device to Yadav's residence in Kandivli East, leading to his arrest by the local police. Multiple security agencies remain involved in the aftermath of the incident to ensure safety along the pilgrimage route, following the immediate security response and investigation triggered by the message.
