Kartik Aaryan Shares Fitness Details After Losing 18 Kilograms For Chandu Champion

Actor Kartik Aaryan has shared details of his physical transformation in Maharashtra, recalling how he lost 18 kg and built muscle on a vegetarian diet. The actor reflected on his journey to prepare for his lead role in the movie 'Chandu Champion', which recently completed two years since its release.
Aaryan reduced his weight from 90 kg to 72 kg to portray Paralympic gold medallist Murlikant Petkar. He marked the second anniversary of the film by sharing a retrospective note about the physical and emotional journey behind the project, which he described as the most special of his career.
According to the actor, the role changed him far beyond the visible physical transformation. He explained that the experience helped him reconnect with values he deeply believes in.
In a post shared on his Instagram account, Aaryan stated that two years ago, he stepped into the shoes of a man whom the world had forgotten. He noted that the character ended up reminding him of everything he believed in.
Aaryan expressed that the film is not just about a man who refused to give up, but also about how scars can become medals and setbacks can turn into comebacks.
To achieve the physical build required for the role, Aaryan underwent a significant weight loss regimen. He successfully shed 18 kg to drop to his target weight of 72 kg. He achieved this transformation and built necessary muscle while maintaining a vegetarian diet.
Reflecting on the scale of the transformation, Aaryan stated that the 18 kg he lost were nothing compared to everything he gained from the experience. He concluded that to play the role of Murlikant Petkar, he had to become someone he had never been before.
