Labourer dies after wet bamboo scaffolding hits power line in Nalasopara East

A 39-year-old labourer died after suffering a fatal electric shock during building repair work in the Santosh Bhavan area of Nalasopara East on Thursday evening. The incident occurred at around 6:10 pm when a wet bamboo scaffolding came into contact with a high-voltage electricity wire.
The deceased worker has been identified as Pramod, who was also a resident of the Santosh Bhavan area in Nalasopara East.
According to reports, Pramod was engaged in the repair of a building alongside two of his colleagues, identified as 34-year-old Vijay Dhangar and 38-year-old Sachin Damgude.
The accident transpired while Pramod was in the process of removing the bamboo scaffolding from the building. Due to the recent rainy weather, the bamboo scaffolding had become wet, making it highly conductive.
As Pramod handled the scaffolding, the bamboo accidentally came into contact with a high-voltage electricity wire. The moisture on the wood caused the electricity to pass through, delivering a severe electric shock to Pramod. He collapsed immediately on the spot.
Further details regarding the incident and the official investigation into the accident are currently awaited.
