Actress Sushmita Sen's net worth has been estimated at Rs 100 crore, highlighting her financial success as a self-made star with assets including a home in the Versova neighbourhood of Mumbai. The valuation has come into focus following recent comments by businessman Lalit Modi, who defended Sen against past online trolling that labeled her a "gold-digger" after the duo made their relationship official in July 2022.
Speaking in an interview with Humans of Bombay, Modi refuted the allegations, describing Sen as a wealthy and independent individual. He stated that Sen is a "very well-to-do lady" who "has more diamonds than anybody I have known on this planet." Modi added that during their relationship, he did not have to pay for anything, noting, "She paid for everything. I was like a kept boyfriend." He concluded that if anyone was seeking wealth, "Lalit was a diamond digger. And she was the diamond."
The trolling began after Modi shared photos with Sen in July 2022. Although the couple later parted ways, Sen responded to critics on Instagram at the time, writing that she was "perfectly centred in my being & my conscience." She added that it was "heartbreaking to see just how miserable & unhappy the world around us is becoming."
