Law Student Dies After Worli NSCI Dome Concert, Organizers Booked for Negligence

A 28-year-old law student died and his 31-year-old female companion was hospitalized after attending an all-night techno music concert at the NSCI Dome in Worli, Mumbai, on Saturday, June 6. The incident has led the Tardeo Police to register an Accidental Death Report and file a First Information Report (FIR) against the event organizer, 'Space Bound', and its executives for alleged negligence.
The deceased has been identified as Vrishabh Mahendra Gangurde, a law student from Mahim. Gangurde and his 31-year-old female friend were attending the 'Klangkuenstler' techno concert when he suddenly fell ill. His condition deteriorated rapidly, and he was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead.
His companion also fell critically ill and was admitted to Jaslok Hospital. Police officials stated that she is currently in stable condition. In her statement to the police, she mentioned that she had only consumed alcohol and energy drinks.
An on-ground investigation by the Tardeo Police revealed preliminary suspicions of a lethal mix of excessive alcohol and suspected banned substances. Forensic reports are currently pending to confirm the exact cause of death.
The Tardeo Police have registered an FIR against the event organizing company 'Space Bound', its CEO Karan Singh, and senior manager Parag Oke. The case has been filed under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which relates to causing death by negligence, alongside Sections 289 and 3(5).
According to investigators, the organizers failed to make mandatory emergency medical arrangements at the venue despite the massive scale of the gathering. Regulations require events of this size to have ambulances, first aid facilities, and trained medical personnel on-site. Police officials stated that timely medical assistance at the venue could have saved Gangurde's life.
