Limbala Villagers Demand Removal of School Principal Over Alleged Alcoholism
Villagers in Limbala village of Maharashtra's Hingoli district have raised repeated complaints against a school principal over alleged alcoholism and demanded immediate intervention from senior education authorities.
Abhijeet Dipke has joined the local residents in taking up the issue, warning that he will participate in a protest alongside the community if the principal is not removed from the post by Tuesday.
According to Dipke, residents of Limbala have repeatedly brought allegations regarding the principal's alleged alcohol consumption to the attention of senior officials. However, villagers stated that no effective administrative action has been taken so far to resolve the situation, prompting calls for immediate accountability.
In addition to the complaints against the principal, villagers drew attention to a severe shortage of teaching staff at the school. Only two teachers are reportedly available to manage five classrooms, raising serious concerns among parents and locals regarding how students are being taught and whether the school can adequately cater to the educational needs of children in the village.
In a statement on August 15, Dipke urged authorities to address the villagers' grievances without further delay. A video from the location showed Dipke standing outside the school building surrounded by gathering villagers, speaking on a phone and gesturing toward the crowd while several local residents recorded the scene on their mobile phones.
The allegations against the principal have not been independently verified, and formal action from education department authorities is currently awaited.
