Maharashtra and New South Wales Sign Agreements to Boost Trade and Investment

Maharashtra and Australia's New South Wales have signed a series of agreements to expand their bilateral partnership and boost trade, investment, and skills development. The agreements were signed in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and New South Wales Premier Chris Minns at Varsha, the Chief Minister's official residence in Mumbai.

The bilateral partnership between the two states, which has been in place since 2012, is set to be broadened and focused on delivering practical results. Chief Minister Fadnavis stated that the areas identified for collaboration are aligned with Maharashtra's long-term goal of becoming a developed and globally competitive state by 2047.

According to an official statement, the newly signed agreements span multiple sectors. These include clean energy, financial services, advanced manufacturing, critical minerals, and agricultural technology.

The collaboration also covers healthcare, education, skills development, technology, culture, and sport, aiming to deepen ties and economic opportunities between Maharashtra and New South Wales.
