Maharashtra Clears Rs 86.65-Crore Relief for Farmers in Nashik, Ahilyanagar and Jalgaon

The Maharashtra government has approved a special relief package of Rs 86.65 crore for eligible farmers in Nashik, Ahilyanagar, and Jalgaon districts whose crops suffered damage due to heavy, above-average rainfall and strong winds during the Kharif 2025 season, Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Makarand Jadhav-Patil announced in Mumbai.

The financial assistance was sanctioned as a special measure following a decision taken at a meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee held on July 2, 2026. According to the state government, the assistance will be provided to eligible farmers impacted by natural calamities in accordance with the established norms and prescribed rates.

Jadhav-Patil said the state took the decision in view of the financial difficulties experienced by farmers following extensive crop losses during the June to October 2025 period. The approved funds are expected to deliver critical financial support to affected cultivators across the Nashik division and assist them as they prepare for the upcoming agricultural season.

To ensure efficient delivery, the financial assistance will be transferred directly into the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries using the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The state government has instructed district administrations in Nashik, Ahilyanagar, and Jalgaon to execute and complete the fund transfer process in a transparent and speedy manner.

Administrative officials have also been directed to carry out thorough verification of all beneficiary details before releasing payments. The administration must ensure that farmers who have already received assistance for the same agricultural season do not receive duplicate benefits.

The Relief and Rehabilitation Department has issued an official Government Resolution concerning the sanction of the relief funds.

The minister further directed the relevant district authorities to ensure that no eligible farmer is deprived of financial relief due to procedural bottlenecks or administrative delays. Providing timely support to cultivators during times of natural disasters remains a top priority for the state government, Jadhav-Patil added.
