Maharashtra Disha Scheme Reaches 21,000 Special Children Across 450 Schools, Says CM

Maharashtra’s ‘Disha’ campaign has expanded to cover more than 21,000 children with disabilities and intellectual disabilities across 450 schools in all 36 districts of the state, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Thursday at his official residence, Varsha, in Mumbai.

Speaking at a Teachers’ Day programme organised at Varsha, the Chief Minister stated that the initiative has integrated more than 2,700 teachers to support special education throughout Maharashtra.

The ‘Disha’ campaign is designed as an educational initiative aimed at helping special children learn through scientific methods and newer teaching techniques tailored to their developmental needs.

During the event held at his official residence, Fadnavis also felicitated five special educators in recognition of their contributions to teaching and supporting children with disabilities.
