Maharashtra FDA Suspends Licence of Sillod ST Depot Canteen Over Safety Lapses

The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) suspended the food licence of ST Canteen Upahar Gruh at the Sillod ST depot in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district and ordered its immediate closure after an inspection revealed multiple food safety and hygiene violations.

The regulatory action was taken during an official inspection conducted under the Safe Food, Safe Maharashtra campaign.

During the inspection of the premises, FDA officials uncovered severely dirty conditions throughout the establishment. The canteen floors were covered with dust, mud, wrappers, and packaging waste. Additionally, the interior walls were peeling, blackened, and in poor overall condition.

Following the identification of these hygiene failures and safety violations, the authority mandated the immediate shutdown of the food stall at the bus depot.
