Maharashtra FDA Suspends Licences of Six Mumbai Food Establishments

The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has suspended the licences or registrations of six food establishments across Mumbai, covering locations in Bandra West, Khar West, Dahisar East, Vile Parle East, Marol, and Chembur, following inspections that revealed violations of food safety, hygiene, and storage norms.

The regulatory action was taken as part of an ongoing food safety enforcement drive across the state. According to officials, the measures were enforced following inspections conducted between July 14 and August 17.

The establishments facing action include Otters Club in Bandra West, Daily Fresh Bakers & Cakes in Dahisar East, Prince of Wales Restaurant in Khar West, Raj Oil Trading in Vile Parle East, Cafe Sifarish in Marol, and a Zepto facility in Chembur.

During the inspections, regulatory officials documented multiple shortcomings in hygiene and standard operating procedures. At the Prince of Wales Restaurant in Khar West, the registration certificate was suspended after inspectors uncovered deficiencies in temperature control, storage practices, pest prevention measures, equipment hygiene, and waste disposal.

The FDA confirmed that inspections and enforcement actions under the state-wide food safety drive are continuing.
