Maharashtra FDA Takes Action Against Food Outlets in Malad, Kurla, and Akola

The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has taken action against multiple establishments in Malad West, Kurla West, and Akola after inspections uncovered alleged unhygienic conditions, improper food storage, and related regulatory violations.

According to an update issued by the FDA on Tuesday, the crackdown targeted Delhi Sweet and Bhelpuri House in Malad West, Gulzar Mohammadi Hotel in Kurla West, and Blink Commerce Private Limited (Blinkit) in Akola, with the establishments facing licence suspensions.

During the inspection at Delhi Sweet and Bhelpuri House in Malad, food safety officials flagged significant sanitation concerns, including the storage of open, uncooked samosas inside a refrigerator placed in the utensil-washing area.

The regulatory measures were initiated following enforcement checks conducted by food safety inspectors to address non-compliance with hygiene and storage protocols across restaurants, sweet shops, and commercial facilities in the state.
