Maharashtra Govt Sanctions Rs 5.47 Crore for IT Projects and Cybersecurity Audits

The Maharashtra government has sanctioned a cumulative expenditure of Rs 5.47 crore for maintaining various IT projects and services across the state. The sanction covers cybersecurity audits of key digital portals, consultancy services, and a specialized study by IIT-Bombay in Mumbai for a proposed Science and Technology Department.

The state's Electronics, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence Department issued the formal order on Wednesday. The order follows approvals granted by the Project Implementation Committee during its meeting held on July 24.

As part of the approved financial outlay, the government has sanctioned Rs 81 lakh specifically for a cybersecurity audit of 10 key Maharashtra government digital portals. This audit will be conducted by the Maharashtra Cyber Crime Security Corporation (MCCSC).

In addition to the audit of government portals, the funding encompasses consultancy services and the research study assigned to IIT-Bombay, which will assist in planning the state's proposed Science and Technology Department.
