Maharashtra Introduces Mandatory Training Policy for Health Department Workforce

The Maharashtra government has rolled out a new training policy for the Public Health Department to strengthen workforce capabilities and enhance public healthcare delivery across the state.

Under the new initiative, training courses have been made mandatory for departmental staff. The structured programs are designed to cover personnel across all administrative and operational levels.

Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Prakash Abitkar stated that the policy will introduce significant changes to the existing training framework. He noted that the primary objective is to ensure that officers and employees receive regular, structured training to upgrade their skills and improve the overall standard of healthcare services provided to the public.
