Maharashtra Launches 'Chala Shaalet Jauya' Drive to Upgrade School Facilities

MUMBAI — The Maharashtra School Education Department will implement a state-wide initiative titled 'Chala Shaalet Jauya' (Let's Go to School) to improve basic facilities across every school in Maharashtra, School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse announced on Wednesday.

The campaign has been designed to address fundamental infrastructural needs in educational institutions throughout the state. According to an official statement, the primary focus of the drive is to upgrade basic amenities in schools, ensuring that students have access to essential facilities during their academic routines.

In addition to upgrading physical infrastructure, the initiative aims to enhance the overall standard of learning by ensuring quality education across institutions. The programme is intended to foster a secure, safe, and student-friendly environment within school premises to support children's development and well-being.

Minister Dadaji Bhuse confirmed that the 'Chala Shaalet Jauya' drive will not be restricted to select areas but will instead cover every school across Maharashtra. The state government plans to execute the measures through the School Education Department to standardise basic amenities and promote safe educational spaces statewide.
